Rice Lake has many attractions and activities! They are the host of the Rice Lake Aquafest that takes place in early-June and offers music in the park every Thursday at 7 pm. Other attractions consist of Skate City, Lake 7 Movie Theatre, Rice Lake Speedway, and area golf courses. For outdoor activities Rice Lake is in the center of many area lakes for fishing and fun, cross country ski trails, and ATV trails. If you looking for a good restaurant check out some of the local favorites including Lehman’s, Drags, Adventures, and Applebee’s.
Cameron is a great family community famous for their school district and offers many parks, campgrounds, resorts, and is accessible to many local lakes. If you get hungry check out the Cameron House, R Bar, or Crossroads Café.
Chetek is known for the Chain of Lakes and offer many resorts and campgrounds! Home of the Hydroflights every Thursday & Sunday through the summer months, Chetek also has Stardust drive in movie theatre, a farmers market on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and many good places to eat including Gilligan’s, Red’s, and Pokegama!
Barron is abundant in indoor & outdoor activiites. In the summer you can visit the Municipal Pool open daily 11:30 to 7 and Rolling Oaks the local golf course and supper club. In the winter months or on a rainy day you can try the Barron Area Community Center that offers a gym, workout center, running track, pool sauna, and hot tub or the Ice Arena for ice skating fun along with an indoor archery range.
If you looking for outdoor activities Birchwood is the place to go! Not only does Birchwood offer camping, golfing, lakes, and rivers for beach fun or other water activities, you are able to access most of the local dining establishments right off of the exquisite ATV/snowmobile trails. Local restaurants include but are not limited to Paul’s Pizza Den, Birchwood Café, Chit Chat Resort, and Shannon’s Trailside.
Spooner, home of the famous Spooner Rodeo in early July, is abundant in activities including the Civic Center, bustling downtown, Hunt Hill Audubon Sanctuary, Railroad Memories and Wisconsin Heritage Canoe Museums.
Shell Lake offers many recreation activities- they are most famous for their beach and the Lakefront Pavilion. They also have camping, fishing, and atv’ing with great scenic views. You can also visit The Wood Carving Museum, Theater in the Woods, and quaint downtown shops. Don’t forget to check out Lakeview Bar and Family Dining and Peggy’s Place for great dining!
